About the Artist
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Michael grew up inspired by the art of Al Hirschfeld, Chuck Jones, former Seattle Post Intelligencer cartoonist Bob McCausland, and the humor of Seattle icon, J.P. Patches. Michael began drawing in the 3rd grade by creating 'art' down the sides of his classwork (no doubt inspired by Mad Magazine) and continued to cultivate his art throughout his school years. In High School, Michael was introduced to the art of Pen & Ink by his Art Instructor and Mentor, Ebo Okiyama. Since then, Michael has continued to perfect his craft. Michael is currently residing in Southern California where he continues to create his unique works of art.
