About the Artist
I began caricaturing professionally at parties in Cleveland, Ohio in 1984 after graduating with a BFA degree in drawing & illustration from Kent State University. I enjoyed much success in 2 major cities, Cleveland & Columbus, Ohio, before relocating to Cape Cod, MA in 1988 where I set up my own retail caricaturing business geared toward the tourist market there. After 5 great seasons in P-town, I decided to head for a warmer climate and moved to Miami Beach, FL in 1992 where I immediately connected with several party planners and entertainment agents. I have had much success caricaturing in S. Florida and have settled in Pompano Beach where I have worked & resided since 2005. I work events throughout a wide area on the east coast from Key Largo to Jupiter & occasionally on the west coast in Naples & Marco Island. I am known to capture a “spot-on†likeness of my model. My caricature style is more like a cartoony portrait, not a wildly exaggerated caricature style. I find guests to be very happy with the drawings.
