Aquarium of the Pacific   

The Aquarium of the Pacific is a public aquarium located in Long Beach, California. It opened in 1998, and houses over 11,000 animals (500 different species), and the largest tank holds 350,000 gallons of water. Most importantly, the Aquarium of the Pacific is dedicated to conservation, including education, community science and outreach, forums, and efforts to protect endangered species and threatened habitats.

• Visiting the Shark Lagoon! It is a large outdoor exhibit where you can see large sharks and rays, shark touch pools, interactive displays, the Pacific Treasures gift store, the Bamboo Bistro outdoor café, and GOOFY FACES!
• Visiting the giant water-squirting squid playground sculpture! It allows children of all ages to have fun. Each display reveals fascinating facts about sharks.

Colonial Williamsburg

Colonial Williamsburg is the largest outdoor living museum in the country located in Virginia.

Elitch Gardens

Elitch Gardens is a 132-year-old theme and water park located in Denver, Colorado, and is known for being the only theme and water park situated in a downtown setting. The park is open from April-October throughout the year.

Los Angeles Zoo

The Los Angeles Zoo, founded in 1966, spans over 133 acres and has 1,400 animals (over 240 different species). As a conservation organization, its goal is to shape a better future for wildlife, humans, and our shared world. It is the heart of who they are and what they do.

St. Pete Pier Marketplace

St. Petersburg, Florida’s St. Pete Pier Marketplace has been recently rebuilt and reopened in June of 2020, though a pier of some kind has existed in its location since 1896.

• The pier is one of the largest in the world at 3,000 feet, so make sure you walk the pier or take the tram.
• Visit the Glazer Family Playground. This playground has swings, slides, obstacle courses, and climbing structures for the kids.

 

The National Zoo

The National Zoo, in Washington, D.C., is one of the oldest zoos in the country. The National Zoo opened in 1886 and is over 163 acres and its most famous animals are the giant pandas. Visitors can also see Asian elephants, great apes, big cats, and a large variety of other birds, insects, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals.

The Florida Aquarium

The Florida Aquarium is located in Tampa, Florida. It opened in 1995 and the largest tank holds over 500,000 gallons of water! While you’re there you can explore animal habitats ranging from Florida’s own backyard to exotic locations throughout the globe. From mysterious sand tiger sharks and playful otters to tiny seahorses and inquisitive sea turtles, there is no shortage of wonders to see!

• Visit the Aviation Research Station, where Tango (female turtle mascot) and Rocky (male penguin mascot) visit periodically throughout the day for pictures and interactions with guests.
