The 5 Powerful Benefits and Technology Behind Digital Caricatures at Tradeshows
The 2023 Tradeshow season is in full swing! Did you know…digital caricatures have been a very popular form of entertainment and marketing tool for trade shows? It’s also proven that digital caricatures help attract foot traffic and generate interest & excitement at a trade show booth too. So what exactly is a digital caricature and how does it work? Let the experts at Goofy Faces tell you!
These digital drawings are created in real-time on a digital tablet like an iPad. Digital caricatures are saved, printed, and shared instantly with each trade show guest. The technology behind digital caricatures is a combination of hardware, software, and artistic skills, which allows the artist to create unique and detailed images in a matter of minutes. Everyone in your booth will be wowed!
How exactly does having a caricature artist in a trade show booth increase foot traffic and generate interest in your booth?
- Creates an engaging and interactive experience for visitors. Guests can watch the artist create their caricature in real time. This allows them to see the artist’s process and techniques, making the experience more engaging and interactive. This can add to the excitement and anticipation as the guests can see their final image coming to life.
- Be a valuable tool for lead generation and can help to increase visibility and reach for your brand. Make sure to ask Goofy Faces how our artists can incorporate YOUR brand into each digital caricature.
- Can be used for social media marketing. Goofy Faces will provide your team access to all the final digital caricatures following the trade show. That way you can share across all social media platforms. It will help increase visibility and create a memorable experience for the customer.
- A valuable tool for lead generation. Your team can gather information from the visitors while the artist draws each digital caricature, such as their name, email address, and contact information. This can help your team and company connect with potential customers and follow up with them after the trade show.
- Can also be used as a promotional item too. This can help to increase brand awareness and create a memorable experience for the customer.
The hardware used for digital caricatures includes a digital tablet or iPad, a stylus, and a computer or other device to process the image. These tablets have high-resolution screens and pressure-sensitive styli that mimic the feel of drawing with a pen or pencil which allows artists to make adjustments as they draw. It saves the artists the trouble of having to bring all their art supplies with them!
The software used for digital caricatures is specialized drawing software that is designed for digital tablets. These software programs offer a wide range of tools and brushes that mimic traditional art materials, such as pens, pencils, markers, and paint. They also have features like layers, filters, and blending modes that allow the artist to create detailed and realistic images. The artist can also add color, texture, and other effects digitally, similar to traditional mediums. Another benefit of digital caricatures is that the artist can make changes and corrections quickly and easily without having to start over. This allows for a high degree of precision and flexibility in the creation process.
The artistic skills required for digital caricatures are similar to traditional caricature art. The artist must have a good understanding of human anatomy and facial features, as well as the ability to exaggerate and simplify these features to create a humorous and recognizable image. Digital caricature artists also need to be able to work quickly and efficiently, as they often have to create multiple images in a short amount of time. Insider tip: Goofy Faces has an entire directory of artists who can draw digital caricatures which we call eSketches™. This list also includes their speed and samples too! Digital caricatures are a fun and interactive way to add value to a trade show booth. They can help attract visitors, create memorable experiences, generate leads, and increase brand awareness. The technology behind digital caricatures involves a combination of hardware, software, and artistic skills, which allows the artist to create unique and detailed images in a matter of minutes. Tradeshow Booth Planning – 3 Easy Steps
Tradeshow season is just around the corner. There are many benefits to a business having a booth. It is a great way to showcase a company’s credibility, talents, and expand its reach. When planning for the show, it’s important to keep the following statistics in mind:
- 46% of attendees are executives or upper management
- 82% of attendees have buying power
- Attendees will tell more than six people about their experience
- The #1 goal for attending is to find new products
Keeping all of that in mind, how does a business create a standout booth to engage the best of the best? Don’t worry! Goofy Faces is here to help you make a plan!
Step One: The early planning process
Most planning for tradeshows begins six to nine months before. Make sure to take time to determine what your budget, goals, and objectives are. Then do the research to find the right tradeshow for your company to attend. Click here to begin your search.
Step Two: The design process
Once you’ve chosen the right tradeshow to attend for your business, there is a lot to consider.
Determine booth design. Make sure to consider everything from the guest’s perspective: lighting, open space, color palette, seating and meeting options, etc.
Choosing the right size booth. The average booth size is 10×10. But this might not work for the design and layout you’re planning. Take the time to map everything out and remember attendees will take up roughly 50% of the booth’s footprint.
Step Three: Creating the experience
Remember you’re creating an experience for your attendees from the moment they step foot in your booth. But how exactly does a business do this?
Build the hype before you go. Let your colleagues, customers, and suppliers know where you’re headed. Maybe even give them a sneak peek of what they might see. This can be done via a newsletter, social media, company blog, email, etc.
Determine team roles. Before you leave for the tradeshow, make sure everyone on the team is on the same page about goals and objectives. Assign everyone a specific role and make sure they stick to it for the duration of the event. Role examples are crowd gatherers, hosts, presenters, technical staff, and sales staff.
Find the right promotional items. They will help your company stand out and make your logo more recognizable. Need help choosing the right item? Click here to see what’s trending.
Determine entertainment for your booth. This is where Goofy Faces comes in! Having our artists in your tradeshow booth will attract more traffic and keep people hanging around to watch (aka enough time for your team to spark up a conversation about your company and its products). The Goofy Faces method is as simple as ABC:
- Attendees line up to get FREE caricatures.
- Branded caricatures continue to sell even after the tradeshow ends.
- Completed on customized paper to reflect your company or products.
Goofy Faces has over 500 artists located throughout the United States. And finding an artist is easy to do with our online directory. Click here. If you have any questions, contact us here. Also, we understand some tradeshows are virtual now. Goofy Faces offers virtual caricature services too. Visit goofyfaces.com/zoom-party-caricatures/ to learn more.
As you begin planning for your upcoming tradeshow, don’t let the details bog you down too much. This is a very exciting time and a creative way to generate NEW business for your company. Lastly, remember this about tradeshow attendees:
- 52% are more likely to enter a booth if they’re offering some kind of giveaway or freebie.
- 64% are not current customers of any businesses at a trade show
- 92% are there to learn about new and exciting products and services

Step 2: Set a budget
Take your time determining how much your event or party is going to cost. A few things to consider:
- Venue
- Food
- Drinks
- Staff
- Invitations
- Entertainment
- Permits (only if the location needs them)
- Clean up costs
Step 3: Determine the date
Choosing a date for your party might seem like a very daunting task especially since there are 365 days to choose from. But it’s actually much easier than you might think! Here are a few things to consider when deciding what date to host:
- Know your guest list
- Skip popular vacation times
- Consider the holidays (don’t forget bank holidays)
- Think about potential weather and climate changes
- Talk with your vendors and venues about availability
Step 4: Pick a location
It is never too early to begin searching for your event venue. Always consider the following:
- Location
- Parking
- Capacity
- Venue Layout
- Venues services and amenities
If you are concerned it’s too late to find a venue, don’t be. Venues always have last minute openings, changes, or cancellations.
Step 5: Create a guest list
Remember to always keep a few things in mind like budget and venue capacities. But for an event like a wedding, a good rule of thumb is to invite immediate family members (parents, grandparents, siblings, uncles, aunts, and cousins), close friends, and significant others.
Step 6: Choose a theme
If your event allows for it, pick a theme. Click here for 65 ideas!
Step 7: Send invites to guests
It is best to send party invitations three weeks before parties like birthdays and general celebrations. But it is recommended to send invitations six to eight weeks for large events and weddings.
Step 8: Shop for decor
There is no better place to look for party decor inspiration than here! But when it comes time to shop, make sure to remember to stick to your predetermined budget. Do not forget to shop around for items that are on sale.
Step 9: Determine the food and drink menu
Pro tip: An adult will consume roughly one pound of food total and children will consume about a 1/2 pound. The more options you have the less you need of each. Don’t forget guests always eat and drink more in the evening than during the day.
If you’re struggling to determine the type of food and drinks to serve, check out Pinterest! They always have the best ideas.

Employee Appreciation in 2022 Goofy Faces Style
The past several years have been filled with many challenges in the workplace. One of the most newsworthy topics and frequently used buzzwords has been the Great Resignation. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2021 over 47 million Americans voluntarily quit their jobs. In 2022 the Great Resignation shows no signs of slowing down either…In January alone, 4.3 million Americans voluntarily quit their jobs. So, how do employers slow or even stop this trend? Here are a few ways to show your employees they are important to you and your company!
Employee Appreciation
It might sound silly, or maybe you don’t feel like there are enough hours in the day, to put thought into how you’ll thank your team for their hard work and dedication. But showing your team you appreciate them matters. According to Forbes, there are three important reasons:
- Recognized employees are happy employees
- Appreciated leaders show appreciation to their employees
- When employees feel recognized, they stick around
Showing your team that you appreciate them can be done simply or elaborately. A simple thank you card, email, or phone call can go a long way. Going the extra mile can be celebrating a birthday, career milestone, or anniversary. Or you can work with your Human Resources Department to create a rewards system.

Team Building Opportunities

As a team leader or Human Resources Department member, you should consider hosting at least one team-building opportunity per year. This is a great opportunity to give your colleagues something to look forward to other than regular deadlines.
According to Indeed, there are 17 major benefits to your team when you have team-building opportunities. One thing they all have in common is how hosting these types of activities positively impacts your company. There are also many different ideas on types of team-building activities when researching online, depending on the size of your team and budget.

Meet Michael!
Michael’s favorite subject has always been capturing people’s personalities. He loves figuring out an individual’s character and studying the tiny details that make them unique. With many years working in a fast-paced environment, he’s learned to do this within minutes, creating personalized caricatures with humor, speed, and accuracy. He’s happy working in both traditional and digital caricatures.
Michael first entered the caricature world working at Kings’ Island, a theme park in his hometown of Cincinnati. He’s a member of ISCA, an international society of caricature artists.
