Tips for your 2020 Holiday Party – have fun!

In the past several years, Goofy Faces caricature artists have been the featured entertainment at dozens of family and company holiday parties. We were gaining quite a reputation as holiday party experts! In fact, this time of year we usually publish our favorite Holiday Party Planning Tips. See below for our tips as revised to reflect the realities of 2020 where some events will be in person and some will be online.

Caricatures make great holiday cards!

While you’re in the holiday party planning mode, consider something fun and different for your company or family holiday greeting card as well! A Goofy Faces caricature artist can create a custom, group image of your family or corporate team that you can use on holiday cards. Book an online social or team-building event for your family or staff and the artist will draw individual faces live via Zoom, or send individual photos to our Caricature Shop and we’ll create your custom compilation.

Planning your 2020 Holiday Party

While 2020 holiday parties will probably look different, most of the same principles apply whether you’re getting together in person (indoors or out), or online.

Goofy Faces artists create eSketches, remote digital caricatures, in person or virtually!

• Start planning early – now is not too late!
• Know your audience – age, activity preferences, etc.
• Know your budget – support local vendors when you can!

Two areas that will definitely look different this year are menu and attire.

Attire: If you are getting together in person, determining appropriate attire may be a challenge. Given that so many of us have been working at home and dressing casually (if at all!), asking people to “dress up” may not go over well. On the other hand, maybe your crew is itching to don some fancy party duds and blingy face masks! The best bet is to set expectations in advance.

Menu: Talk to your caterer and know your local health department guidelines.

If your 2020 Holiday Party will be in person, plated meals and individual dessert plates are probably safer than buffets. It can be as simple as a boxed lunch up to the finest dining.

If your team is celebrating together from home, you can have meals delivered, or give each person a delivery credit with a certain restaurant or delivery service (such as postmates, grub hub or door dash). Planning to use a caterer? Have them box everything up and your team or family can pick up their meal from one location – no-touch drive by style! And then you can all dine together online.

Remember your Holiday Party Entertainment!

A well-planned, enjoyable holiday party boosts morale. When you start planning your 2020 Holiday Party, remember to book fun, memorable entertainment! (The obligatory shameless plug!)

Your guests, colleagues, family and friends can still enjoy the fun of having a custom caricature drawing come to life right before their eyes! Whether your event is in person or online, we can be part of it and help create great memories!

We have artists in every state, so if it’s warm enough to gather outside, or you have a large enough indoor space to allow for proper distancing, a Goofy Faces artist will fit right in. And we can usually accommodate last-minute requests so give us a call.

Getting together online? We’re Zoom Party experts. We bring the fun and the skills to help your event run smoothly and make sure everyone has a good time!

Your family, work family, and friends miss being together, and the holidays are an especially hard time to be alone. So go ahead and plan that holiday party. It may be more subdued than other years, but it can still be memorable – even without the boss dancing on the table!
